Until I figured this out, it would only record from the laptop mic on thebuilt in web cam. Under the Line In tab, move everything EXCEPT External Mic to the left "unused" box. Now back to Cool Edit, goto Options -> Device Properties What I had to do was goto START -> Control Panel -> Sound (orįrom here make sure your External Mic Input (High def blah, blah) is set to default and check the properties, make sure it is working and turned on! yes, the mixer program is no longer there. I don't know why people are having problems, it installed and works fine on Win 7!!?!? Oh well, anyways. Is it displaying two channels on the panel of Cool edit? Go to the control panel, click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
